Response to Bad Churches Blog

If you check out the blog above you will see a list of the bad churches in the country from a brother in Christ, Lionel Woods.Some have criticized him on his reasoning for writing the blog for a myriad of reasons. I want to reflect on that blog. I believe some have misconstrued his stance on the reason for the blog. He states clearly,”These individuals on the list, have a serious problem with the Gospel proclaimed in scripture and my fear is that many of them our not really Christians at all. We don’t know for sure but there is a huge possibility.”

Well with that being said I want to provide some information on this subject. I received an email from Faith World (one of the churches on the list), how I got it I do not know.

 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:17) In his letter to the people of Corinth, Paul tells of how the false teachers of that time used the word of God as Merchandise for gain. Where as in Corinth Paul chose not take any money for his work. The word corrupt is translated merchandise in some translations. When the pastors start using the word of God to bring “bling, bling” status to their rep, we have some problems.

What we have then is the world seeing themselves modeled out in the church. Or as da Truth spits it, “the world looking in the mirror and seeing the church.” So in response to LW post I must agree with him. This is not an attempt to belittle these people just a word of caution to those attending. Be like the Bereans, who even searched out the teachings of Paul to make sure he was on the up and up. 

I leave you with this thought,”how is that everybody in the church( WOF) has a gift but nothing is free.”
